Dr Shaoliang “Richard” He established the Berowra Station Surgery 2017, and after treating the Berowra and surrounding Communities, could see his practice growing and requesting more services. In March 2019, Dr He keen to expand his services amalgamated the Surgery with The Madison Medical Practice Model. Dr He is proud to be associated with a quality family based Practice, of which he is the appointed Medical Principal. Dr He has been a General Practitioner for over 20 years and is committed to provide the best medical care for you and your family.

Dr Mo graduated from Guangzhou University Medicine in 1995, and worked in a number of local Hospitals in China, before moving abroad to New Zealand in 1997, where she gained expertise in acupuncture and physiotherapy. Dr Mo completed a B.App.Sc in Phyisotherapy and worked as a qualified Physiotherapist in New Zealand from 1997 to 2011.

In 2011, Dr Mo and her family moved to Australia where she passed her AMC exam in the same year, and started practicing as a doctor in Australia. Over the years, Dr Mo has worked in various hospitals in the New Castle region such as Belmont district hospital, Maitland hospital, John Hunter hospital, Manning Base hospital as well as hospitals and medical centres in Sydney such as Ryde hospital, Erina Skin Cancer Clinic and HealthPac Medical Centre.

Dr Mo has been able to leverage her extensive experience in general medicine, skin cancer medicine, acupuncture and physiotherapy to become an expert in in anti-wrinkle injection, and pigmentation removal with laser machines.

Dr Jesse Luo is a dedicated male GP who graduated from Medicine at the University of Newcastle with honours in 2012. Jesse has been appointed the Medical Principal of the Madison Medical Practice Hornsby and as he has shown true leadership to his medical peers. Jesse prides himself on quality medical care and is currently teaching the next generation of medical professionals these skills, at both undergraduate and postgraduate university levels. Jesse trained at Westmead Hospital gaining experience in Emergency care, Respiratory and Palliative Care medicine. He has completed the Diploma in Child Health in 2014, and gained a diverse range of experience during his rural General Practice training in Muswellbrook and in the Central Coast. Dr Luo is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin (可提供中文服务).

Dr Areej George graduated with a MBCHB from Iraq in 2001, and completed her GP training in the UK at The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in 2011. Having this hospital training Areej has gained exposure into Emergency management, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Respiratory, ENT and General Surgery. She is a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in the UK and a Fellow of the Australian College of General Practitioners, and holds a Diploma in Family Planning. Are has a special interest in Women’s Health, Skin Lesion review & excision, and Paediatrics;  she is also fluent in  Arabic, French and English.

Dr Mina Nakhla graduated in 1985 from the Alexandria University in Egypt and completed his Australian Medical Council Certificate. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and is a Registered Counsellor with Medicare. Mina is a caring empathetic GP who has a special interest in Paediatrics, Diabetic and Asthma Management, Men’s Health and Psychiatry. Mina is fluent in Arabic and French and can understands Greek and Italian. The Madison Medical Practice Hornsby welcomes Dr Anjuman Jui to our Clinical team. Dr Anjuman Jui completed her MBBS from a top-ranked Government medical school – Dhaka Medical College, Bangladesh. She moved to Australia in 2007 and continued her studies and training throughout. She holds the Australian Medical Council Certificate and started the intern and residency training program at Westmead Hospital Sydney in 2010. During her hospital years she worked in different rural and regional Hospitals such as Bathurst, Orange, Coffs Harbour Base Hospital and Temora District Hospital. She entered into AGPT-Australian General Practice Training program and completed her GP training at Murrumbidgee Riverina Wagga Wagga and Temora. She completed her GP Fellowship exams successfully in 2015 and was awarded FRACGP from the Royal Australian college of General Practitioners. She aims to provide quality health care and is interested in all areas in General Practice. Anjuman is passionate about Australian rural communities and often travels to rural and remote areas of Australia to provide healthcare services. Registered, Child & Family Health Nurse, Nurse Immuniser & AGPAL Co-surveyor. Linda graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing at The University of Western Sydney in 1992. To complement her skills, she later completed another Degree in Health majoring in Management, Health promotion and Education. Linda has extensive Clinical and Managerial experience within the hospital and community health settings, by leading both clinical and non-clinical personnel, and has been a Mentor to many students over the past 20 years. Linda is a qualified Child and Family Health Nurse and Nurse Immuniser. In 2016 Linda was appointed a AGPAL Co-surveyor enabling her to review and accredit other General Practice facilities to ensure optimum service delivery to all patients across Australia. Linda has extensive experience with babies and prides herself on assisting and educating mothers with their newborns. Linda’s care and devotion to her patients has seen her become a popular Health Care Professional not only within the Hornsby Community but the North Shore.

Maddi Jones has transitioned from our Hornsby Madison Medical Practice as a receptionist into a graduated Enrolled Nurse. Maddi has been with our family Practice for the past 2 years and has grown into a wonderful team member also being certified to take blood samples for Australia Clinical Laboratories. Maddi has been mentored by Linda Severino our most experienced lead RN and we are delighted Maddi is here to support the Doctors and the Berowra Community.

Leesa is a Registered Psychologist, who trained at the University of New South Wales and Sydney University. She has extensive knowledge and experience in working with acute and chronic clinical Mental Health presentations, such as schizophrenia and bipolar, as well as with gambling addictions, anxiety, depression, trauma, parenting concerns and has experience in working with children, adolescents, adults as well as older persons. Her special interests are parenting interventions, attachment theory depression, anxiety, gambling and post natal depression and psycho-education.

Leesa is a Psychology Supervisor and mentors and teaches Psychology Interns. She works collaboratively, using a variety of therapy styles including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Solution Focussed therapy, Motivational Interviewing and strengths based therapy. Leesa’s approach to treatment is that is should be a collaboration, with the aim to assist the client to identify and build on their strengths to help them to live the fulfilling and value filled life they deserve.

She is a Registered Psychologist with AHPRA and Medicare and a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPI).

Sonia is a Registered Speech Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia after completing her degree at the University of Sydney. Sonia has extensive experience assessing and treating children of different ages with a range of difficulties including speech, language and literacy delays, stuttering, social skills and behavioural difficulties in both private practice and school settings. Sonia’s empathetic personality and passion for working with kids makes her an approachable therapist that both children and families enjoy working with.

Sonia also has experience seeing clients with additional needs. She has developed a passion for early language therapy with a particular interest in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Sonia has been trained in various therapeutic techniques including Key Word Sign, Hanen Early Language program and the Lidcombe program. She utilises her clinical experiences and training to empower families to support and stimulate their children’s communication in natural settings. Gauri is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian specialising in South Asian Diets. She grew up in the country side on fresh vegetarian food and loved growing vegetables from a young age. She believes that healthy eating is possible in every culture and cuisine. Gauri is passionate about cooking from fresh ingredients and trialling various cuisines. She is a mother of a toddler and understands the challenges of cooking for a family with varying nutritional needs and tastes. Gauri has been working as a dietitian for 5 years and in private practice for 2 years. She enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team who are committed to holistic and preventative health. Gauri’s favourite thing about being a private dietitian is getting to know and help her patients from diverse backgrounds to love food and enjoy good health. Gauri has had experience in a major public hospitals and various nursing homes. Gauri has a special management programs that assist in weight loss, weight gain, healthy eating, Diabetes, Blood pressure and Cholesterol management, Vegetarian and Vegan diets, Emotional eating, Digestive health, Liver health, Food allergies and intolerances and Women’s health.

Jessica has been a practicing Physiotherapist enjoying both private practice sports therapies and general practice to provide patients programs to assist with muscular strength and rehabilitation. She has a special interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and applies best practice/ evidence based approach to treatment; incorporating Individualised and patient centered care. Jessica is passionate about health care and fitness and has developed many skills working in multiple physiotherapy settings: Private practice, hospitals and occupational rehab. She has completed, Bounce Back lower back preventative core exercise training programs and the esteemed Professor Jill Cook’s Lower Limb Tendinopathy course and Sports Level 1.

Katy is originally a country girl from Forbes (Central West District of NSW) and has spent over 30 years in Sydney. Her background is in hospitality but she found herself working in the Real Estate Industry as a Strata Manager before joining our team. She enjoys providing quality customer service to our patients and has a real interest in the Berowra community.

Katy is married and has two grown up children and a cheeky canine.  She enjoys the company of her friends and family and her hobbies include photography, travel, interior design, quilting and various hand crafts.

Katy is currently studying Leadership & Practice Management with UNE. She hopes this course will enable her to become proficient in her role within the practice.

Amelia has been our Medical Receptionist at the Practice since October 2018 after taking time out to raise her two children.  She is currently studying a Certificate III in Business Administration (Medical) with the University of New England to broaden her knowledge of Medical Administration. Amelia holds a Master of Economics with an ANU scholarship (ANU) and 1st Class Honours in Economics (JCU) (Reserve Bank Cadet Scholarship) and worked as an Economist in both the public and private sectors in Canberra, London and Sydney. Amelia is married with two children and has lived in Berowra for 10 years. Her interests include bush walking and doing volunteer work in the Berowra community.

Troy has studied at both The University of New South Wales and The University of Sydney. Over the past 20 years he has held Senior roles in clinical and business positions in both Primary and Secondary Eyecare settings. He has led teams and developed strategies to successfully launch new Ophthalmic procedures and products to benefit patient welfare and accelerate business performance.

After managing The Sydney Eye Centre – a combined Ophthalmic Day Surgery and Eye Centre for Primary Health Care Ltd, he established Primary Eye Care in 2002, the first company in Australia to incorporate 4 levels of Eyecare (Ophthalmology, Orthoptic’s, Optometry and Optical Dispensing) and grew this to 3 practices across Sydney in 7 years.  He sold his interest in 2009 and embarked on a corporate career with Alcon Laboratories Ltd – a Global Eyecare leader in Ophthalmic Devices/Pharmaceuticals and was appointed the first National Key Account Manager for the Surgical Division in 2015, and was responsible for developing strategic Ophthalmic partnerships with National and International Corporate Groups.

As the Managing Director of The Madison Medical Practice for the past 5 years, his vision is to continually shape and grow the companies culture and ethos of “Excellence with Empathy” for the benefit of each Community. Troy’s aim will be to deliver processes to assist in achieving the highest standard of general practice care collectively with like-minded Health Care Professionals.

Marisa has been with The Madison Medical Team since 2012 and has been involved with implementing cloud-based Accounting solutions.  She works closely with each Office Managers at all locations and Senior Management to ensure all financial aspects are managed accurately and timely.
